Need help?
If you have taught for even one day, you know that some of the toughest moments are transitions: entering and exiting the classroom, shifting from lunch back to class, the Friday before a break, the dreaded Monday after a break, and even small transitions between activities.
For trauma-affected kids, transitions can be even more challenging. Disrupting a hard-earned sense of emotional regulation and safety with "now it's time to head to the library"? Oof. It can be rough!
But with a trauma-informed lens, there are so many things we can do to make things run smoother! In this workshop, we''ll:
- Develop an understanding of why transitions can be so hard for trauma-affected kids (and communities)
- Learn about "felt safety" and how it can look during transitions
- Apply the four priorities of predictability, flexibility, connection and empowerment to our transition routine designs
Come to the workshop ready to ask questions and share ideas!
My pay-what-you-can workshops are relaxed, interactive, and conversational. We take our learning seriously but we have fun too!
This is a live workshop with no recording. See you there.
