Step into a world of rhythm and grace with our Beginner Belly Dance Course, designed to offer a perfect blend of fun, challenge, and invigorating workout. Each session is crafted to awaken your body and spirit, guiding you through the mesmerizing movements that define this beautiful art form. Whether you're a complete beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced dancer looking to refine your technique, our class is tailored to meet you where you are, pushing you to new heights in a supportive and uplifting environment.
Based on Suhaila Salimpour’s somatic belly dance method, each class begins with a thorough warm up, to prepare your mind and body to take on new technique drills. After working on fundamental movements we move on to some exciting dance movement travelling across the floor. And we tie it all together in a fun combination to integrate the learning and strut your new skills!
So, if you're looking for an activity that's as good for your heart as it is for your soul, join us for our beginner's Belly Dance class. Discover the joy of movement, try something new, and feel the excitement of SWANA (South West Asian & North African) music and dance.

The studio is less than a 5 minute walk from Lewisham station. The entrance is on Lewisham High Street. It is a single door by the clock tower, next door to The British Heart Foundation. You go up the stairs and follow the signs for Zhulin Hidden Village on the second floor.

Why are there breaks in the term?
Our classes are held in a Kung Fu school and they hold their monthly seminar on the last Sunday of every month. So we fit our term around them.
