Decolonising Psychology: A Psychology Cultures Seminar

Thu 8 May 2025 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM BST Online, MsTeams

Hosted by our 1st year trainee cohort, this tri-annual seminar will explore 'Decolonising Psychology: Rethinking Teaching & Research in Higher Education'

Our guest speaker will be Dr Sarah Atayero (www.sarahatayero.com). As her website states, Sarah’s work addresses psychology's colonial past to tackle racial inequities in mental health. Sarah's mission is to educate and empower academics, clinicians and organisations to champion anti-racism in psychology and the workplace.

This event is targeted towards clinicians and aspiring psychologists who seek to critically explore the colonial history of the profession of Psychology to support making changes to institutional and clinical practices. There will be a particular focus on academia and research.
