Renowned concert pianist Jodie DeSalvo is back at Unity of Naples for an unforgettable night of Valentine's Day classics with a duo of incredible vocal talents.
Fiddler on the Roof actor, Mark Sanders, who's also performed with the Gulf Coast Symphony in Fort Myers and the Naples and Bonita Springs Concert Bands joins Jodie onstage, along with local famed singer Carolann Sanita of The Music Man and West Side Story.
Make a night of it! Come early and enjoy pre-show drinks and hors d'oeuvres provided by Higher Grounds in the courtyard. Pre-show cocktail hour starts at 6:00pm ($20, includes food & drink), with the performers taking the stage in the sanctuary at 7:00pm ($35 pre-purchase online, $40 at the door). About the Performers:
Jodie DeSalvo has captured national and international attention with her classical and jazz interpretations of the masters of keyboard literature. Upon winning the Artist International Competition in 1988, Ms. DeSalvo made her Carnegie Hall debut to critical acclaim with an encore performance two years later at Lincoln Center. She has been a top prize winner in the Young Keyboard Artists Competition, the American Music Scholarship Competition and the National Federation of Music Clubs Competition. A graduate of the Hartt and Manhattan Schools of Music, and a former student of John Browning and Gary Graffman, she is also a past recipient of the Artist Fellowship Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Jodie has toured extensively as piano soloist, is a proficient conductor, and has recorded and produced 13 CDs of solo literature, chamber, and choral music.
Carolann M. Sanita has toured as Marian in the first national tour of The Music Man and internationally as Maria in the European and Asian tours of West Side Story. Some favorite credits include singing back-up to Linda Eder in concert at the Palace Theatre on Broadway, Encore’s No, No Nanette at New York City Center, Les Miserables at Flat Rock Playhouse, West Side Story at Sacramento Music Circus, Mack and Mabel and The Boy from Oz at TheatreZone, Spamalot at Arkansas Repertory Theatre and A Little Night Music at South Coast Repertory Theatre. Carolann has been a soloist with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Rosa Symphony Orchestra, the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra. Carolann has founded her own private vocal studio, CSV Vocal Studio, LLC and continues to perform, teach and music direct locally and regionally. Mark Sanders grew up in Marion, IL, spent 15 years in NYC and now makes Ft. Myers his home. He has appeared in numerous productions and concerts around the world. Mark was seen as Perchik on the Broadway National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof starring Theodore Bikel and has become a favorite soloist with the Gulf Coast Symphony in Fort Myers as well as the Naples and Bonita Springs Concert Bands. Regional Credits include: Mamma Mia (Harry), Memphis, Bridges of Madison County (Bud), Passion (Col. Ricci), Ragtime (Father), Murder Ballad (Michael–Carbonell Award), Next to Normal (Dan), Merrily We Roll Along (Charlie), The Secret Garden (Archibald), Music Man starring Jeff Goldblum, Jesus Christ Superstar and Blood Brothers.
