The Unity of Naples Visual Arts Center invites you to embark on a musical journey inspired by famous artists across multiple movements. From Bach to The Beatles & DaVinci to Warhol, this is a performing arts experience like no other.
This collaborative concert will integrate original visual artwork, visible from any seat in our beautiful sanctuary utilizing a large projector screen and presentation specially curated by Suzanne Stohl, Artist in Residence for Unity of Naples. Internationally-acclaimed concert musician Jodie DeSalvo provides her signature piano sound, along with a variety a flutes played by Emmy Award-winning flautist Kat Epple.
In the second half, witness live artists painting onstage along with the music. From the masters to contemporaries, to artists of today from within our community, come join us and feel connected to the consciousness of creativity.
Make a night of it! Come early and enjoy pre-show drinks and hors d'oeuvres provided by Higher Grounds in the courtyard, along with live painting by Pat Grillo & Muffie Gill, and live flute by Kat Epple. Pre-show cocktail hour starts at 6:00pm ($20, includes food & drink), with Jodie taking the stage in the sanctuary at 7:00pm ($20 pre-purchase online, $30 at the door). Additional refreshments available for purchase during intermission.

About the Performers:
Jodie DeSalvo has captured national and international attention with her classical and jazz interpretations of the masters of keyboard literature. Upon winning the Artist International Competition in 1988, Ms. DeSalvo made her Carnegie Hall debut to critical acclaim with an encore performance two years later at Lincoln Center. She has been a top prize winner in the Young Keyboard Artists Competition, the American Music Scholarship Competition and the National Federation of Music Clubs Competition. A graduate of the Hartt and Manhattan Schools of Music, and a former student of John Browning and Gary Graffman, she is also a past recipient of the Artist Fellowship Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Jodie has toured extensively as piano soloist, is a proficient conductor, and has recorded and produced 13 CDs of solo literature, chamber, and choral music.
Emmy and Peabody Award-winning composer Kat Epple has released 35 music albums internationally, composes music for film scores, and performs live original music as a solo artist and with her various ensembles. Her compositions on keyboard, digital technology, World Flutes and other acoustic instruments cover a huge variety of musical styles including World Music, New Age, Jazz, Metal, Orchestral Film Scores, Children’s, Electronic Space Music, Native, and Ambient Music. Kat composes and produces music for television and film scores for National Geographic, PBS Nova, CNN, Carl Sagan, The Travel Channel, Valentino Fashions, History Channel, HGN, MTV, The Guiding Light, NASA and Apple Computers, among others. She is the founding member of PeaceVision: A Media Company for Peace. Kat has performed music at Guggenheim Museums, New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, The United Nations, London’s Union Chapel, Palazzo dei Diamanti, Italy, National Gallery, Africa, and Asia. For twenty years, legendary visual artist, Robert Rauschenberg, commissioned her to perform at his art openings internationally. In addition to her work as a solo artist, she currently performs and records with The Devin Townsend Project, Emerald Web, Sonic Combine, Katalyst Project, RayDar Kats, and Anthropology Band. She often travels the world collecting flutes from other cultures which she features in her original compositions and performances.
About the Curator:
Suzanne Stohl is a potter and photo realistic artist whose work is shown and sold internationally. As a commissioned artist, potter and instructor, her work in all mediums has been accepted and displayed in Juried shows in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC, St. Augustine and Naples, FL. She spent most of her adult life as a professional corporate trainer, motivational speaker and consultant. For the past 6 years, she has blended her artistic talents with her teaching skills as an Artist in Residence with Oceania Cruises and Unity of Naples.
