This free event is open to everyone and offers a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the work of UHP, meet the people behind our services and explore the wide range of careers available within the NHS.

As one of the largest employers in the South West, University Hospitals Plymouth offers hundreds of different career paths. This event is particularly aimed at young people who are considering their future education and employment options, helping to showcase the rewarding opportunities available within the NHS.

Whether you're a student, parent, teacher, job seeker or simply interested in learning more about your local hospital, there's something for everyone.

Behind-the-scenes tours

Visitors will have the opportunity to book a range of exclusive tours and talks, subject to availability. Sessions include:

• Estates and Facilities, Sustainability and behind the scenes

Booking is essential. Due to capacity, we have bookable timeslots for the the careers showcase at 9.30am-11am and 11.30am-1pm. Further details and the full programme will be shared closer to the event.

Getting here

Travelling by car

If you are travelling by car to the Careers Showcase, please park at Car Park C.

Please note that the section of Hospital Road shown in red on the map is restricted to buses and hackney carriages and should not be used to access the event.

Instead, enter the hospital site from Derriford Road on the side of the helipad and follow the route marked by the green arrows, passing the Plymouth Blood Donor Centre and continuing to Car Park C and the Derriford Centre for Health & Wellbeing. Event signage will be in place on the day to help direct visitors.

Travelling by public transport

Derriford Hospital and Derriford Centre for Health & Wellbeing (DCHW) is well served by public transport. If travelling by bus, we recommend using services that stop at or near Derriford Hospital. Once you arrive, follow signs for the Derriford Centre for Health & Wellbeing (DCHW). Event signage and volunteers will be available to help direct attendees.

Please allow additional time to navigate the hospital site, particularly during busy periods.

• Use a journey planner such as Google Maps to identify the most convenient service.
