Delivering online presentations that help the audience feel less remote

Mon 29 Jun 2026 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

This session, which is open to all regardless of experience, background or job function, aims to explore presentation delivery from the human perspective. This session focuses specifically on online presentations.

How does a presenter deliver their content so as to affect an audience in a positive way resulting in some kind of action; a new understanding or fresh perspective? A sense of urgency or value? A commitment or undertaking?

Presenting - whether face to face or online - is the act of one person speaking to two or more others for the purpose of sharing ideas that will create a momentum for change in their thoughts, feelings or actions. I assert that it is not a skill to be learned, rather a set of behaviours to be identified. The challenge is that the setting in which these behaviours are to be performed is unfamiliar at best and can be overwhelming at worst, and this accounts for how it feels unnatural, awkward and self-conscious.

Through example, experience, story, metaphor and exercise, this workshop invites you to challenge oft-held preconceptions about presenting, view it through the lenses of the five fundamental principles that underpin high performance, and notice which aspects seem most relevant to you. The aim is for the course to equip you to make decisions about how you might approach your next presentations differently.

My intention is for the workshop to be engaging, informal, surprising and memorable, and I would welcome any suggestions in advance of the workshop so that I can accommodate any specific objectives you may have.

This workshop is led by Piero Vitelli, from Island41. Piero has delivered coaching and training to organisations across the world focused on personal effectiveness, communication and experiential learning.

Please add the session to your calendar.
