This Writers' Retreat gives attendees the opportunity to devote a whole day to writing in a quiet, structured and supportive atmosphere.
Preparing to write a book chapter, article, report or something else? This retreat could be just what you need. Enter an oasis of quiet writing time with colleagues.
There will be short discussions on good writing practice, and how to approach your writing as a professional task, with the majority of the day devoted to writing without distraction to a schedule that has been developed to encourage healthy and productive writing.
This retreat is a valuable way to start and keep writing and break the isolation of writing alone.
The retreat is facilitated by Dr Pam Lock, Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Bristol. These retreats have been running at Bristol and beyond since 2014 and have received positive feedback from attendees.
Attendees are encouraged to turn-off distractions and set an out of office to help support this dedicated time.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided during the day.
Academic and professional services colleagues from all areas are invited to attend this Writers' retreat.
