What does leadership look like to you, and how do you maintain a strategic approach when managing complex and demanding research projects where everyday demands often draw your focus?
This two-hour workshop is a chance to escape the gravitational pull of the urgent and spend a little time on the things that can actually change outcomes. Through practical tools, lively discussion and structured peer exploration, you will look at how strategic leadership really works in research management: not as grand theory, but as a set of small shifts in perspective that can empower you to be more effective. You also have the chance to bring along a real leadership challenge and use an action learning approach to examine it.
This session is for research professionals who work across research programmes, strategies, institutes and hubs. Your job title could be (but not limited to): Research programme manager, hub manager, institutes manager, research strategy manager, research project manager, research innovation manager.
