This interactive workshop aims to bridge the disconnect between the lived realities of mature and parent‑carer PGRs and institutional provision of support services.
The workshop will first present findings from a current Enhancing Research Culture project, ‘Developing the PGR Policy Environment for Mature and Parent PGRs’, including survey data on higher education institutes across the UK’s service provisions for mature parent and carer PGRs from academic and administrative members and survey data from mature parent carer PGRs across the UK on their perception of these provisions.
Following this, group discussion will focus on what’s needed within Bristol and across the sector to improve support for mature and parent carer PGRs, and how progress can be made towards this.
This session is designed for heads of school/faculty, school/faculty managers, PGR directors and anyone who plays a role in shaping PGR experiences at the university and is invested in improving the experiences of mature and parent carer PGRs.
Findings from this workshop will be contribute to the data collection of the current ERC project ‘Developing the PGR Policy Environment for Mature and Parent PGRs’.
Participants will be given a participant information sheet and consent form (available here https://uob-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/ab17557_bristol_ac_uk/IQAkMUUB5vugRaq5-SmArw8BAf0s7VNV-OV0oF9o8N7SeTw?e=3MB7zO) to fill out at the start of the workshop.
