This in-person workshop uses case studies and scenarios to explore what equitable, transformative research partnerships look like and what they might mean for working practices across Bristol. This session is aimed at anyone who works with, or is thinking about working with, partners in Africa.
Background: Equitable and transformative research partnerships seek to develop African leadership in research and global knowledge production. This could be achieved through co-creating research agendas, helping to build equitable project budgets, working with lower-resourced partners to implement UK regulations and grant requirements in light of their specific research environments, local languages and cultures.
Recently, we have led a project to address a lack of standardised staff resource for putting the principles of the Africa Charter into place throughout the university.
A new training module has been developed to help staff across the university facilitate equitable and transformative research partnerships with Africa and we are excited to share this with you.
