The University of California Alumni UK Network Presidents warmly request your presence at the 6th Annual UC Alumni UK Charity Gala on Saturday 25 March 2023, at the elegant and Art Deco Banking Hall.

Our evening begins with a sparkling reception, leading to a three-course dinner and speeches, capped off with dancing. 

During the soiree, guests are invited to enter the raffle and bid in the silent auction, both featuring highly coveted items and one-of-a-kind experiences.

Dress Code: Black Tie.

Keynote Speaker: US Ambassador Barbara Bodine, UC Santa Barbara '70
Ambassador Barbara Bodine is a Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy and concurrent Director of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University. Ms. Bodine spent over 30 years in the US Foreign Service, primarily tackling regional policy, strategic security issues, counterterrorism, and government reform on the Arabian Peninsula and greater Persian Gulf. She is a magna cum laude graduate with degrees in Political Science and East Asian Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara (’70) and earned a Master's from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

Donor Speaker: David Spector, UC San Diego '98

David Spector launched Redline Capital Partners in 2016, an investment fund focused on investments in the life sciences and healthcare sector. David has extensive operational and investment expertise in the sector spanning nearly 25 years with an exemplary record in investments, deal sourcing, transactions, and M&A.

David has a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego where he was a two-time All American Track and Field athlete in the Pole Vault. David also has an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management where he was awarded the Patrick J McGovern Award for excellence in entrepreneurship.

About Our Charity: The University of California Trust (UK)

The UC Trust (UK) is a registered British Charity and serves as the charitable arm for the University of California system. Donors from the United Kingdom and Europe can access tax-effective giving options to any fund or scholarship at the 10 UC campuses. 

Proceeds from the silent auction and raffle prize draw goes towards supporting scholarships for UC students to study abroad the United Kingdom. (Current study abroad students and scholarship recipients will even be present at the event!). 

We encourage Gala attendees to make a gift at the event, to study abroad or to any scholarship or fund they chose.

Tickets are sold as non-refundable, sales are final, unless the Gala needs to be postponed or cancelled, in which case all tickets will be refunded.
