Professor Sue O'Brien Inaugural Lecture

In this inaugural lecture, Professor Sue O'Brien reflects on her career so far in teaching, teacher education and educational leadership. Tracing her experiences alongside the significant changes in policy, practice and professional expectations, she will explore how these developments and milestones have influenced her own thinking, values, and career choices. Through this reflection, she considers the impact of her own brand of curiosity when navigating change, embracing opportunity and sustaining a lifelong commitment to learning.

Looking to the future, Professor O'Brien considers how teacher education can nurture knowledgeable, reflective and curious professionals who will support all children, young people and teachers themselves to thrive in an increasingly complex world

Tea and coffee will be served from 6pm and a complimentary drink will be available afterwards
