VOCAL -Voice of the Child in Family Mediation: Overcoming barriers to ensure Participation as a right, not a privilege (VOCAL): on Thursday 26th of November 2026 at the Institute for Lifecourse and Society (ILAS), University of Galway (LCI-G018 Lecture Theatre) H91 C7DK

The report details the findings from the VOCAL research project, funded by Research Ireland, providing insight from the lived experiences of separating couples who availed of mediation through the Legal Aid Board, Family Mediation Service. Specifically, it presents parents’ views and those of their children, where possible and appropriate, on the benefits or otherwise of availing of child-inclusive mediation. 

A light lunch will be served from 1pm and Judge Geoffrey Shannon will launch the report at 2pm.
