Workshop: AI, Data, and Modelling for Life and Health Sciences

Wed 23 Jul 2025 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM Sir Bob Burgess Building 1.03, LE2 7TF

The convergence of artificial intelligence, computational modelling, and life sciences is influencing the trajectory of modern healthcare. Working with the Leicester’s Institute for Precision Health, this workshop will present collaborative life and health sciences research done in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences along with a guided discussion session aiming to understand where collaborations could be fostered. We want to bring together clinicians, data scientists, computer scientists, and mathematicians to foster interdisciplinary exchange leading to translational projects.

Guiding Questions:

  • Where could you see technology such as AI having the biggest impact in your research?
  • Where has technology not been used in healthcare that you feel could have a big impact?
  • What are the biggest barriers to collaboration between computing and clinical domains?
  • What ethical or practical concerns do you have about integrating AI into patient care, and how might these be addressed through collaboration?
