The University of Sheffield is pleased to announce Cancer Research Horizons is visiting Sheffield on 18th September 2023 for a series of presentations and networking opportunities. Cancer Research Horizons is the innovation engine of Cancer Research UK, built to translate the work of a national network of exceptional researchers. Launched a year ago, Cancer Research Horizons incorporates Therapeutic Innovation, Strategic Alliances, Cancer Tools and Commercial Partnerships.
Staff at all career stages are invited to join us. PhD students are also welcome to come and hear about opportunities available through Cancer Research Horizons.
THERAPEUTIC INNOVATION
Streamline the translation of cutting-edge innovations to accelerate the discovery and development of new therapeutics. Develop your therapeutic project by applying to the Therapeutic Catalyst.
STRATEGIC ALLIANCES
Create themed alliances between academic and industry partners within areas of cancer biology. Run a genome wide CRISPR screen, develop a new antibody supported by our award-winning alliance team.
CANCER TOOLS
Specializing in commercialisation of research tools (cell lines, antibodies, animal models and more) with the research community and commercial organisations.
COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIPS
Providing strategies for managing intellectual property whilst remaining active in the academic community.
Draft timings (may be subject to minor amendments):
11.30am to 12.30pm - Introductory presentation
12.30 to 1.30pm - Lunch and networking
2.30 to 4.30pm - one to one discussions - members of the CRH team are keen to meet researchers individually or in small groups to discuss a specific idea or project you have, or just to learn about your research and the support they could offer you. Just let us know when you register and we will reserve you a slot with the most appropriate member of the team.
