Public Engagement Festivals 2025

This autumn, researchers from the University of Surrey are taking part in two national celebrations of research: the ESRC Festival of Social Science and the AHRC Being Human Festival. Our programme of free public events will bring research to life through workshops, performances, talks and hands-on experiences. Together, we’ll be exploring “Our Working Lives”,  from the pressures and pleasures of work today, to how changing jobs, technologies and expectations are reshaping our futures,  while also looking “Between the Lines” to uncover hidden stories, overlooked voices and the unexpected ways that art, culture and history shape how we see the world. These festivals are about more than ideas, they are a chance to meet researchers and creatives, share your own perspectives, and discover surprising connections between research and everyday life. Whether you are curious about society, fascinated by culture, or simply keen to try something new, you’ll find plenty to inspire you!
