What does home mean as we grow older? How can housing and care better support LGBTQ+ people in later life? Join us for an afternoon of film, conversation and creative theatre activities inspired by The Life House Project(Opens in new window), which explores the experiences of LGBTQ+ adults as they think about housing, care and community in later life.

Watch a powerful short animation, hear from people involved in the project, and take part in an interactive theatre workshop where you'll explore ideas through simple, creative activities.

No theatre experience is needed - just curiosity and a willingness to join the conversation. Whether you're interested in ageing, LGBTQ+ lives, creativity, housing or care, this event is an opportunity to listen, share ideas, and imagine more welcoming and inclusive futures together.

Suitable for adults (16+). Everyone is welcome. This event is part of a series run by the University of Surrey.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 5-14 November 2026. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
