Beyond AI Literacy: Revisiting the Purpose of Business Education for Human-AI Workplaces.
Graduate capabilities, curriculum renewal and employability in the age of AI
Speaker: Angela Gao - University of Sussex
Abstract:
This seminar builds on reflections from the Oxford Human-Algorithm Interaction Workshop 2026 at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and opens up a timely conversation about how business education should respond to the rapid integration of AI into learning, work and organisational decision-making. Moving beyond a narrow focus on AI tools or technical skills, the seminar asks what kinds of graduate capabilities business schools now need to develop: critical judgement, problem framing, ethical awareness, human-AI collaboration, communication, adaptability and value creation. It will connect emerging research, sector discussions and teaching practice to explore how curriculum, assessment and pedagogy might be redesigned to prepare students for employability and responsible participation in AI-enabled workplaces. The session will be relevant to colleagues interested in education, assessment, employability, responsible AI, digital transformation, future of work and the evolving role of business schools.
