Inclusive teaching practices book launch

Wed 28 Oct 2026 13:00 - 14:00 GMT The Gallery, University of Sussex Library

To celebrate the publication of Inclusive teaching practices: A toolkit for narrowing ethnicity awarding gaps, we’d like to invite you to join us for a launch event in the Library on Wednesday 28 October at 1–2pm.

How can university teachers create learning environments in which all students can thrive? And how can inclusive teaching practices help address persistent ethnicity awarding gaps in higher education?

This book is a practical toolkit showcasing innovative teaching practices from University of Sussex tutors that aims to address these questions. Grounded in academic research, the examples from diverse disciplines demonstrate how inclusive curricula, anti-racist pedagogy, co-created learning, inclusive assessment, student engagement and academic skills support can help busy higher education practitioners to offer equitable and inclusive teaching.

We will hear from some of the contributing authors of the book about their teaching methods and how they came to write their chapters.

The event will be held in the Gallery in the Library. Light refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you there!
