This event is part of a new 'What it Takes Summer Series', which is specifically targeted at alumni graduating in 2020 or earlier, who have already started and advanced in their career journeys. This event is organised by the Alumni Relations Office at the University of Westminster.
About the speaker

Tom Armitage, Head of Talent & Performance at The Telegraph (MA Personnel and Development, 2011)
Tom oversees the talent and learning strategy for 1,100 employees, promoting a culture of continuous growth and performance excellence. In addition to his day job, he is a freelance business and career coach based in London. He specialises in partnering with his clients to bring clarity, spark self-insight, exercise agency, and effect sustainable change. His approach is challenging, creative, curious, empathetic, and supportive.
Tom brings to his work 18-years of diverse experience across industry sectors. He started his career in learning and development at Barclays UK Retail Bank where he was seconded to work in Delhi; led Diageo’s graduate recruitment operations across Western Europe; set up a global leadership development practice at Pearson; and is in a senior leadership role as Head of Talent and Performance at Telegraph Media Group.
Tom earned his BA in French and Linguistics at Newcastle University, his MA in Personnel and Development at Westminster Business School, and his MSc in Career Management and Coaching at Birkbeck College, University of London. He is studying for his Postgraduate Certificate in Team Coaching at Hult Ashridge.
