The Westminster Law School cordially invites to the first Annual Gareth Jones lecture on Ukraine. This new series of events is designed to provide high profile lectures focusing on current events in Ukraine. On 2 October 2024 we have a unique opportunity to welcome Mr Andrey Kurkov, Ukraine’s most famous contemporary writer and thinker. His novel Death and the Penguin is an international bestseller which has been translated into over thirty languages. His recent novels Jimi Hendrix Live in Lviv (2023) and The Silver Bone (2024) have been longlisted for the International Booker Prize. In the eyes of Giles Harvey of the New York Times, Mr Kurkov is ‘Ukraine’s greatest novelist fighting for his country.” In his lecture at the Westminster Law School Andrey Kurkov will focus on culture at the time of war.
The lecture will be followed by Q&A session. Attendance possible on-site and on-line.
