This workshop will focus on one of the key areas that can hugely impact on your abilities to get through your PhD experience. How might feelings of isolation or loneliness affect your studies? Feeling alone whilst being part of a PhD cohort is a very common experience, but why is this and what can be done about it? Do these feelings have to have either a negative or positive impact, or is there a more nuanced understanding to be gained through investigating ideas of being alone whilst being a Doctoral Researcher? Come and explore how feelings of solitude form part of the researcher's life whilst doing a PhD (and beyond) and share how others have navigated these often difficult and unwelcomed emotions. This workshop will offer both practical and more critical tools that aim to offer a helping hand in what can sometimes feel like an intense experience of being alone.

This workshop is open to anyone who feels that they may benefit and is free to attend.
