Description
Cut your impact, spread the word, help bring change
Join us on November 26th to discover the role your small business can play in creating positive change - for the world and for your business. What SMEs do mirrors a rock being dropped in a pond; small actions and effective communications can ripple out in all directions.
If you’re a newly-started SME, or any SME turning over up to £1 million, then reducing your climate impact is likely to be key to your plans. This event won’t just help you turn those plans into reality, it will show how all the good stuff your business does spreads.
Our keynote is Hugo Tagholm: head of global marine conservation NGO Oceana, previous CEO and co-founder of Surfers Againast Sewage, and Doctor of Science by the University of Exeter for services to the marine environment. He was named Environmentalist of the Year 2021 by Save the Waves, and founded the Global Wave Conference, Plastic Free Communities movement, the Million Mile Beach Clean & Safer Seas Service.
Hugo will draw on all this experience to talk about embedding a credibly sustainable ethos at the core of your business, communicating effectively to engage (both within and beyond your business), and knowing your customers well enough to be authentic. He’ll help you on your journey from starting-up to scaling-up, wading through mud, and the inspiration and commitment you need over time to succeed.
We’ll also hear from Greenworks during the day, and from other Cornish SMEs (to be revealed soon) already rising to this challenge, the practical ways they’ve done it, innovating their way to net zero and telling the world about it. Nimble SMEs will be at the forefront of the climate transition and have the chance to create the models of the future. This event will help you explore that.
