ABOUT THE GUMERACHA & DISTRICT HISTORY CENTRE
The Torrens Valley & District Historical Society (TVDHS) was established at a meeting in Gumeracha on 9 September 1976. The new society’s first public meeting was held at Birdwood High School 50 years ago on 25 November 1976. The Gumeracha & District History Centre was established soon after. Since 1994, both have operated only under the history centre name. It has its own archival and research rooms adjacent to the Gumeracha Library and a large library/archival collection.
