Evening Mending and Darning - spring denims and cottons

Unwind & Flourish 'Craft Club' is a series of beginner-friendly craft workshops led by local artists and makers.

Mending and darning your clothes and textiles is nothing short of a revolutionary act. Come and learn a new incredibly powerful skill in our upcoming workshop and spend a spring evening learning how to salvage and breathe new life into your garments, focussing on techniques tailored to seasonal, lighter fabrics like cotton and denim. Leading us will be the amazing Georgia, an artist and professional in textiles repairs who comes back to Craft Club after leading our first mending workshop last fall. This class is suitable for beginners, but fun and inspiring for people with more experience and for those who have already attended our previous class, as we will explore new approaches and different darning techniques. 

You will be provided with a kit of threads and fabrics to experiment with, but you're welcome to bring your own mending project/s.

We'll have 2 full hours of learning with Georgia 7pm-9pm, plus another hour (till 10pm) to continue on our projects and practice. 

Mending (and repairing in general) is ultimately an act of care and kindness towards the planet, nature and each others, so we hope you'll join us on this path to more sustainable practices and to a kinder future.

Craft Club currently only hosts workshops for grown-ups (18+), however if you've got a crafty tween or teen and the craft in question is suitable, please get in touch and we can look to accommodate them.

Babies are welcome to all our Craft Club workshops unless differently specified! The rule of thumb is that having your baby in tow shouldn't stop you from enjoying crafting. [Please keep in mind we meet in the pub upstairs function room so there are stairs to climb]
