International Welcome Workshop and Afternoon Snacks: Discovering Leicester - British Culture and Finding Your Community

Want to know a bit more about Leicester and British culture? Then join us to learn about some local places of interest and get lots of advice for exploring your new city.
In this session, we’ll talk about culture shock – how to recognise it, what to do if you are experiencing it and share some tips for settling into your new home.
We'll also be joined by representatives from the local policing team, who'll share their top tips for staying safe in Leicester.
There'll be quizzes, games and lots of discussion. The session also includes a social with a chance to try some traditional British snacks and meet other students.
This session is part of three International Welcome Workshops (see details below), which are designed to help new international students have a smooth transition to life in the UK.
We would encourage new students to sign up for all 3 workshops.
