Up for Yorkshire

Up for Yorkshire is a people-centred charity, rooted in the communities it serves since 1976. Our work is guided by a commitment to strengthening local places, supporting residents of all ages, and developing connection across North Yorkshire. We believe that strong communities are built when people feel valued, included, and able to shape the places they call home.

As a trusted local organisation, we work alongside individuals, groups, and partners to understand what matters most to them. Our role is often one of connection - bringing people together, amplifying community voices, and helping to create opportunities where they are needed. Whether supporting individuals to overcome challenges, enabling local groups to flourish, or helping communities adapt to change, our focus remains on people and the places they live.

Across all our activity, Up for Yorkshire aims to nurture resilient, confident, and thriving communities. We continue to evolve with the needs of our local areas, championing equality, collaboration, and the strengths that already exist within the people of North Yorkshire.

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, throughout 2026 we will be raising £50k for 50 years, creating a Community Fund to support grassroots projects & organisations.
