About Chef:
By the time Santosh Shah won the highly coveted BBC MasterChef: The Professionals Rematch, he was already widely respected and sought after in London's finest establishments. His stellar experiences in the UK include working in a Michelin Star restaurant, and leading fine dining and award winning kitchens as Head Chef and Executive Chef. His popular cookbook AYLA was published in 2022. This is Shah's first US Tour.
For the first time, the Chef's critically acclaimed Nepali Spiced Octopus will also be included in the pop-up dinner. It was described as "the most beautiful plate of food I’ve ever been served on MasterChef!’ by Grace Dent, the renowned restaurant and food critic (The Guardian, Evening Standard, BBC MasterChef).
For this tour, the Chef has produced a unique 15-item menu not served anywhere else in the world! NOTE: This is a 6-course dinner that will begin at the same time for everyone. Please arrive ahead of time in order to not miss your service and to have seating options. There will also be special drinks available at the bar. Welcome drink: RAKSI (Nepali spirit)
Canapés
- Sande ko bogatey with marigold (tempered pomelo in filo basket)
- Lamb and egg bara (lentil pancake with ground lamb and quail egg)
Veg. option: without egg and meat - Hans ko choila (spicy duck breast salad)
Veg. option: Poleko makai ko choila (barbecued corn choila) - Dungri papad (papadum, tuna kachila)
Veg. option: with Watermelon chaat
Chaat: Tarai aloo chop, gheu puffed rice, cherry tomato chutney
Baked: Goat pie, dried fish chutney
Veg. option: Mixed wild mushrooms pie, coriander chutney
Chargrilled:
Nepali spiced chargrilled Octopus, bhang ko chutney, taro leaf terrine, spiced yoghurt, sisnu aloo
Veg. option: Nepali spiced chargrilled Asparagus or stem broccoli will replace octopus.
Mains:
Timbur Lamb, mustard greens, masala bhat, Lamb jhol, gundruk ko achar
Veg. option: Timur spiced Himalayan yam with mixed bean jhol
Desserts:
- Kodo ko kheer and mango snowball, with gold leaf
- Sichuan biscui
