Earth Day Event

Join us for a FREE, Family Friendly Earth Day Event 🌍

Bringing together a diverse group of people and partners to create a shared Earth Day event for all.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're dropping in for a short visit or staying for the whole afternoon.

🗓 Sunday, 26th April

📍 Location 1: The Stratford Hotel 
20 International Way, London, E20 1FD

🕑 2:00 – 4:30 PM
Drop in and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of activities: 

• A range of eco activities, including Earth Day cards, the power of plants, and more
• Garden Tours at The Stratford Hotel: Join Jim the gardener for one of three garden tours at 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, or 4:30 pm. Tours depart from the lounge area. Each garden tour includes an Earth Day Quiz, with prizes to be won
• 6.00 PM – Garden tour prize winners will be announced in the The Lighthouse and Gardens

📍 Location 2: The Lighthouse and Gardens 
Located directly opposite the hotel (a 1-minute walk)

At 4:30 pm, we’ll gently guide everyone across to the gardens. You’re also welcome to move between locations at your own pace.

🌿 4:30 – 6:30 PM
Join us in the gardens for:

• A variety of nature themed crafts 
• 5:00 – 5:45 PM – Learn the Waggle Dance with Jess, a fun, interactive routine all about the importance of bees
• 6:00 PM – Closing community sing-along with Tobago Crusoe and Raz Tavaris’ drumming circle
• Time to relax, explore, and enjoy the gardens together

Our team will be around throughout the afternoon, look out for friendly faces wearing a green/blue arm band if you need help or directions.

Refreshments: Light snacks and flavoured water available at both The Stratford Hotel and The Lighthouse and Gardens.

What to Bring: Don't forget to bring water and comfy shoes.  Want to make it extra special? Bring a picnic blanket and some snacks to relax and enjoy the outdoor fun at The Lighthouse and Gardens from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Photography Notice:
We’ll have a photographer capturing all the fun moments throughout the event. If you’d rather not be in the spotlight, simply let the photographer know, your comfort is our priority. 

Family Reminder:
Please ensure that children are supervised at all times during the event. We want everyone to have a fun and safe time. 

🛁 Treat Yourself to The Community Sauna Baths:
Our friends at The Community Sauna Baths, located at The Lighthouse Gardens, are offering affordable sauna experiences. Why not unwind and book a session during the event? Please note this is a paid service and must be booked separately. The sauna is also inclusive, with a special design for wheelchair users.
