🌿 Family Bushcraft Day

Come and spend a full day immersed in nature, learning bushcraft skills, and enjoying hands on activities designed for families led by Peter from Red Oak Bushcrafts . From building shelters to safe fire craft, it’s an adventurous day for children and adults alike.

Skills covered:

  • Shelters: Learn how to choose a safe shelter location and use your environment to make it more efficient. We’ll teach a few basic knots and give you time to practice before your family group sets up your own shelter.
  • Water: Learn how to find, filter, and prepare water for making a warm tea.
  • Natural Cordage: Explore how our ancestors used natural materials to make cordage (string) and make create your own survival bracelet.
  • Fire: From a spark to a flame and further. Discover how our ancestors made and harnessed fire. We’ll guide you on gathering and preparing materials, and show you how to light your fire using a simple, effective fire lay.

It’s a fun day out for the whole family, from little ones to not so little ones. Immerse yourself in a hands on learning environment, and be prepared to get a little muddy.
