4 Weeks Kizomba to Urban Kiz Intensive Course

We are excited to deliver an intensive 4-week course, designed to teach you the fundamentals of Kizomba whilst getting you ready to start Uban Kiz Beginner level with us. 

Whether you have a background in dance or not, this course will propel you to reach Urban Kiz Beginners level. This course will teach you the Kizomba fundamentals you need as the foundations of a competent Urban Kiz follower or leader.  Delivered by Kiz Lounge teachers Emilia and Jeff, who have had experience teaching beginners at Kiz Lounge over the last 18 months and use the tools and techniques gained during this time to ensure you end the course feeling ready to take your next step into the beautiful world Urban Kiz, joining the rapidly growing community of dancers. 

Summary of the course: 

The course will cover the following topics and fundamentals 

• The difference between Kizomba and Urban Kiz (origins, music and style)
• Position, connection, body intention with exercises
• Technical steps - Male and Female saida, estrella, shuffle, casamento and more.

The focus is to ensure students understand how to lead, follow and become familiar with the basic techniques that form the foundation for Urban Kiz. 

There is a lot to cover and the course will be challenging, we ask that students commit to a full 4 weeks and stay for as long as they can after the course to practice during the social with the teachers and other dancers. 

Dates and Times 

• Tuesday 11th February, Tuesday 18th February, Tuesday 25th February and Tuesday 4th March. 
• 2 hours 
• Arrival 7.30pm for 7.45pm start. 
• The course will last until 9.45pm with breaks. 
• Social dancing from 9.45pm until 12.30am 

Prices 

• £40 single leader / follower 
• £75 couple pass leader and follower

No refunds unless the course is cancelled.

Kiz Lounge was established in August 2016 and was the first weekly night in London offering Kizomba and Urban Kiz Classes. Kiz Lounge has developed Londons' most popular and experienced teachers in Urban Kiz. With 9 years of experience, we are proud to be at the forefront of creating talented Urban Kiz teachers, dancers and DJs, representing London and the UK.

Important Info

• There is NO BAR. Students are welcome to Bring Your Own (BYO) water/ drinks. 
• Alcohol can be consumed on the premises, please drink responsibly.
• Card payments or correct entry fee only
• There is NO CLOAKROOM, belongings are left at your own risk
• If walking please stick to the main road at night and follow the route via Old Street, right onto Central street, right onto Lever St then right onto Ironmonger Row. 

How to find us

Our new venue is located 10 mins walk from Old St Station. G-Happy Feet Studios is a privately hired space. It provides the perfect environment to learn and feel relaxed in a state of art studio with sprung flooring, mirrors, air conditioning, shower facilities and professional sound and lighting to create the right ambience for both the classes and social.

🚘 Parking after 6.30pm 5 mins walk Lever Street (near Kings Gardens, Seward Street, Central Street and surrounding roads.
