2hrs workshop designed for improver / intermediate level.

Summary

Tarraxo is a partner dance style that was created in France in 2010 by Gwany and Kizzy, who continue to develop and grow the style alongside Liliana. Tarraxo has gained popularity and its influence in other partner dances has been huge, going from an underground style to spreading around the world.Objectives of the workshop:

The workshop will be split into 2 topics:

1. Keep the line - tarraxo fundamentals for both leaders and followers to understand how to dance “clean” tarraxo maintaining all the connection points

2. Twist & Connection in tarraxo - improver level steps and exercises focusing on the twist step in different variations, while maintaining tarraxo connection.

Both followers and leaders will learn unique steps, how to initiate and maintain connection and improve musicality and body control.

About your teachers

Toco

Toco from South Korea, began his journey in Kizomba dance in 2015, emphasizing a deep understanding of the fundamentals and their importance. Building on this foundation, he continually explored new ways of expression, crafting his unique style and establishing himself as a respected dancer and instructor within the Kizomba community.

In addition to Kizomba, he has trained in various dances such as Salsa, Bachata, and Brazilian Zouk. With 15 years of experience in Salsa and Bachata, he expanded his dance repertoire, and this diverse background has enabled him to creatively fuse different styles, resulting in a distinctive approach.

Since 2017, Toco has devoted his passion to two specific styles: Urbankiz and Tarraxo. Particularly from 2020 onwards, he has developed his own unique style in Tarraxo, further deepening his expertise in this field. His dance is recognized for its creativity, dynamism, and the fusion of innovative techniques with sensual expression.

Toco has been invited to prestigious events in Asia and Europe as an artist and judge, showcasing his talent and style on an international stage. Moreover, he has been dedicated to nurturing the next generation of dancers, contributing significantly to building a vibrant and skilled dance community through regular classes and workshops over the past nine years.

Aleksandra Ziarko

Is one of the first certified Tarraxo teachers in the UK and part of the team that started Tarraxo School London in 2023. She trained in Urban kiz and Tarraxo in Poland and France, attending various workshops and festivals from world-class teachers. In the last years she has taught Tarraxo and Urban Kiz in the UK and internationally and has collaborated with some of the most renowned teachers in the scene. She has a versatile dance background (salsa, ballroom, hip hop) and is passionate about teaching technique and body movement.Agenda~

Our new venue is located 10 mins walk from Old St Station. G-Happy Feet Studios is a privately hired space. It provides the perfect environment to learn and feel relaxed in a state of art studio with sprung flooring, mirrors, air conditioning, shower facilities and professional sound and lighting to create the right ambience for both the classes and social.
