Join Gerit Quealy, author of Botanical Shakespeare and frequent UTF host, along with authors Paul Wood (Tree Hunting), Olivia Sprinkel (To Hear the Trees Speak), Robert Kingham (Doing the Lambeth Walk), Friends of Bloomsbury Square, & other surprise guests on a tree walk around Bloomsbury Square!
We will take a tour around the garden square, learning a little local history, Shakespeare’s take on trees, gardening tips & an homage to all the tree varieties mentioned in Shakespeare that we see – and hear what the trees themselves have to say. Be prepared to hug a tree or two & Speak the Speech!
We will wind up at the delicious Cordon Bleu culinary café in Pied Bull Yard off the Square & adjacent to London Review of Books where we can chat, refresh, and perhaps have tree tarot readings & book signings if desired!
