A 5-week online introduction course to Newspaper Theatre for the post-digital age.
The lab offers practitoners of all levels of experience a unique opportunity to learn and apply theatre and interactive tools as a global community of practice. The lab begins with an introduction to Newspaper Theatre, emphasizing its relevance in a world struck by misinformation, social polarization, and eco-anxiety. Co-learners will explore digital tools and techniques, learning by doing and collective co-production.
- Adapting Newspaper Theatre to the post-digital era of AI and fake news.
- Questioning how to engage diverse audiences in a polarizing world.
- Addressing eco-anxiety and the ethics of working alongside generative AI.

Introduction to Newspaper Theatre basics as articulated in the Theatre of the Oppressed by Augusto Boal.
Post-digital Storytelling tools, and their integration and adaptation to Interactive theatre.
Collective inquiry on interactive Collaborative tools for theatre online.
Designing a workshop and or performance of Newspaper theatre for a context.
Present an open session with Collective artworks and peer feedback.
Lab Structure
- Five 90-minute Zoom live weekly sessions. (Thursdays 10 am to 11.30 am CET on the dates November 13th, 13th, November 20th, 27th, December 4th and December 14th)
- In between sessions, Reflective prompts and supporting resources.
- Collaborative production of Interactive theatre to present to peers.
About the Facilitator
Uri Noy Meir, from a village near the Sea of Galilee and currently in central Italy, specializes in unlocking collective intelligence and creativity in communities and organizations. Trained in Theatre of the Oppressed, Dragon Dreaming, and Social Presencing Theatre, he empowers individuals and groups as an Advanced Practitioner. Engaging in global research for awareness-based system change, Uri is dedicated to using the arts for transformative projects that foster interconnectedness and enhance community well-being.
