The Door of Return: Theatre that Reconnects Learning Journey

Tue 20 Jan 2026 10:00 - Sat 24 Jan 2026 22:30

The Door of Return is a week-long Theatre that reconnects learning journey to Senegal, weaving embodied practice, collective storytelling, and intercultural dialogue. Through Forum Theatre, Rainbow of Desire, Dragon Dreaming, and the Work that Reconnects, participants explore how deep ecology, ancestral memory, and social dynamics can shape transformative theatre-making. The journey includes a 5-day masterclass with Uri Noy Meir (20–24 January), site-based exploration— including Gorée Island—and collaborative devising sessions leading to devising a performance for the Breathing Together Festival (30 January – 2 February).

Participation for international guests is offered on a sliding scale from 450 euros (student rate) to 900 euros (supporter rate). This contribution includes homestay accommodation, local travel, all training sessions, and preparation/follow-up calls. In alignment with our commitment to accessibility, West African artists are invited to apply and join at no cost, with dedicated places reserved for those living and working in the region.

Participants who wish to deepen their experience may extend their stay in Senegal, with support offered to develop a follow-up proposal, continue practice, or engage further with the festival and local communities. This journey is part of a long-term collaboration between ImaginAction and Kaddu Yaraax, nurturing cross-continental learning and co-creation.
