Aligning Decisions, Definitions, and Direction in Product Teams

The Session

The session will begin with a talk exploring collaboration between designers and developers within product teams. While they often work closely together, effective collaboration is not always guaranteed. Oona (designer) and Kelsie (developer) will highlight three common barriers that can hinder teamwork, sharing real experiences and practical approaches to better align design and development.

In the second part of the session, participants will be invited to reflect on their own experiences. Attendees will write down situations related to the challenges discussed—or introduce additional ones we may not have considered. These contributions will then serve as the basis for a panel discussion to close the evening.

About the speakers

Oona is a Design Researcher and Service Designer with international experience across finance, insurance, and telco. She uses research-driven insights to optimise services and champion design strategy across multidisciplinary teams.
