Vancouver Heritage Foundation presents a virtual evening of storytelling in celebration of the Places That Matter project. Join us on Zoom for our 5th annual community celebration to hear from Musqueam community members, special Places That Matter guest speakers, and members of Vancouver City Council who will present the Heritage Week 2022 Proclamation.
This virtual event is offered by donation. Please consider supporting Places That Matter by selecting the 'donate' option while registering.
The Places That Matter plaque project launched in 2011 to recognize community-nominated sites that highlight some of the lesser-known people, places and events that have shaped Vancouver. A decade later, with 89 plaques installed, the Places That Matter - Community History Resource Website (placesthatmatter.ca) continues to grow with personal stories and photographs submitted by community members. We invite participants, attendees and organizations to share their stories and connections to Places That Matter sites throughout 2022. Stay tuned for more plaque presentations and community celebrations.
Please note, this event will not be recorded for later viewing.
