Learn about the Vancouver Heritage Program and how it is used to recognize, protect and support diverse heritage resources across the city. Bring your questions as there will be time for Q&A at the end of each session! 

Thursday, April 27th | Vancouver Heritage Program in Action: An Introduction to Heritage Conservation in Vancouver

The first of the VHP in Action series, this session provides an overview of the Vancouver Heritage Program and its three components: the Vancouver Heritage Register; Heritage Management Tools; and Public Engagement and Awareness. By the end of this session, each participant should have a better understanding of the Vancouver Heritage Program, as well as navigating the Heritage webpages to learn more about heritage conservation in Vancouver.

Thursday, May 4th | Vancouver Heritage Program in Action: Heritage Grants and other Management Tools

Building on the first session of the VHP in Action series, this talk focuses on the Heritage Management Tools component of the Vancouver Heritage Program. By the end of this session, each participant should have a better understanding of how Vancouver protects its heritage properties (e.g. Vancouver Heritage Register, Heritage Designation, Heritage Revitalization Agreement, Restoration Covenant, Zoning and Heritage Grant Incentives). The session will also focus on the Heritage Grants that provide financial incentives to support conservation of heritage buildings citywide.

2 additional sessions will be offered on Understanding the Vancouver Heritage Register on September 7 and Looking Beyond Built Heritage on September 21 (TBC). More information on these sessions coming soon!

Attending all 4 sessions in this series earns 2 credits towards VHF’s Heritage Conservation Certificate.
