"Please don't speak badly of what happened in our little yellow house..."
Arles, Southern France, 1888.
Van Gogh's house-share with Paul Gauguin started as a dream of artistic brotherhood but ended in a nightmare: after only 8 weeks together they had a blazing row, Paul left town and Vincent cut off his own left ear.
Why? This electrifying 2-man rock musical confronts a mystery that has baffled the art world for well over a century.
With hair-raising rockers and heart-stopping ballads, ‘The Rise and Fall of Vinnie & Paul’ blasts the roof off the little yellow house to reveal the pain and passion within.
It was nominated for the Stiles+Drewe Best New Song Prize 2022 and featured in the top 5 shortlist for the Stiles+Drewe/Music Theatre International Mentorship Award 2023/24. It was also chosen for The Other Palace’s Musical Bites season in 2023.
