Cruel Britannia is a trans reimagining of Shelley's Frankenstein set in Thatcher's Britain Following a critically acclaimed season at the Arts Centre Melbourne, London-born writer and performer, Kristen Smyth brings us this poetic and transgressive reimagining of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Football hooligans and London night clubbers clash in a hyper-realised world filled with poetic story-telling that echos Kae Tempest and Ian Curtis lyrical brilliance. A 'trans gothic classic all of its own' said Australian reviewers in a show that will make you laugh and make you cry.
