For The Plot

Could you go on a reality dating show? What if it was ‘For The Plot’?

Could you and your friends convince the producers that you’re cool and marketable? What if you and your friends are completely useless?

Could you be honest about how much you want the attention? What if, regardless of the answer, you can’t stop seeking it out?

For The Plot is the adorable story of a completely normal, cute couple who go on a dating show. They definitely have chemistry, they definitely have the social skills to charm the nation, and they’re definitely not polar-opposite ‘friends’ who engineered a whole plan to scam their way onto your screen. Their friends, enemies, and love interests definitely did NOT help them figure out how to market themselves into a space that was never for people like them, and you absolutely, positively, definitely will not watch the scheme threaten to completely unravel before your eyes.

Based on real events, this comedy play vividly depicts the camaraderie, conflict, and chaos of young people chasing a good story, and their pursuit of attention and acclaim in a society that simultaneously demands and punishes it.
