A pitch black comedy about the true crime industry, sibling rivalry, and Irish folklore. Written by Alice Flynn, Little Sister was shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Playwriting.
Two decades after the infamous disappearance of troubled teen Shona, a bloodied and disoriented woman appears on the doorstep of the Mundy family home on the anniversary of their mother’s death demanding to be let in. As sisters Bridget and Sally struggle to pick up the pieces of a childhood defined by public enquiries, speculation and an empty chair at the dinner table, the woman on their doorstep could hold the answer to what really happened to their sister all of those years ago.
The question is: when you've lived an entire life without answers, does the truth even matter?
Little Sister was written by Alice Flynn (Sluts With Consoles, 1000 Ways The World Will End & How It Starts Again) and directed by Liam Rees (Sycamore Grove, The Enlightened). It was originally developed as part of Broken Silence Theatre's young writer in residence scheme and was shortlisted for Women's Prize for Playwriting in 2021.
