August used to be a loser. Then they made a best friend, quite literally. In a work-in-progress Specatular, the New York comedian is joined on stage by an unconventional co-star: a six-foot-tall stuffed Best Friend, hand-stitched to satisfy every need of a palatable platonic bond. At its core a stand-up show, Be My Friend examines our relationship with friendship through comedy, confession, and surreal theatrical storytelling.
