"What’s the one secret that would destroy you if it got out?”
A one-Cardinal-show exploring power, faith, hypocrisy, and how much tea can go in that cup before it runneth over. Inspired by the hottest film of recent times: Conclave. But queer(er).
A conclave is a spiritual gathering, wherein Cardinals are all locked up in the Vatican together to elect the next Pope from among their number. It is a time of sacred contemplation. It isn’t a war.
All the fighting has to be invisible. Obviously.
Before a conclave, each Cardinal must receive the sacrament of confession. Enter the confessional with one of these Princes of the Church: Cardinal Cvntvs, who wouldn’t dream of plotting to take down his competitors – because Cvntvs’ Vatican is definitely not an endless repository of salacious queer drama, petty squabbles, and psychosexual, above-tepid rivalries.
Nope.
This is serious shit.
On the eve of the conclave, Cardinal Cvntvs reflects on the demands of life as a cardinal, how well he has kept his vows, and the potential precipice he might be standing on as he may soon be elected as the religious leader for a billion souls. Caught between past and future, not all of Cvntvs’ secrets belong to other people.
You don’t need to have seen Conclave - but you do need to love messy queer divas.
