Join Dr. JD Calsyn, VMD, DACVIM (Internal Medicine), for his upcoming CE lecture "Diarrhea: How to Evaluate It and a Guide to Testing & Treatment" on September 18th! This lecture will consist of a review of the management of acute and chronic diarrhea from an evidence-based approach. The discussion includes an analysis of the common tests and a simple algorithm for treatment.
Meet Dr. Calsyn, VMD, DACVIM (Internal Medicine)
JD Calsyn grew up in Southern California and graduated from UCLA and then subsequently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. He did a rotating internship at the Bobst Hospital of the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Following his internship, Dr. Calsyn worked as an emergency doctor at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) in Tinton Falls, NJ. Dr. Calsyn then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at RBVH. Since then, he has worked at Laurel Pet Hospital as the Medical Director and Fresno Vet Specialty and Emergency Center since 2015. He sold Laurel Pet Hospital in 2022.
Dr. Calsyn enjoys outdoor activities such as basketball, hiking, and skiing. He was previously a high school football coach in La Canada, CA. He coached the Quarterbacks and linebackers and was also the JV head coach.
