Join us for an extraordinary evening of strings, passion, and world-class artistry at the opening performance of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival 2026.
The Friday Faculty Concert brings together the brilliant faculty anchoring this year’s festival. From the fiery rhythms of traditional flamenco to the intricate, breathtaking counterpoint of classical duos, this showcase highlights the rich diversity and technical mastery of the guitar community right here on the West Coast.
The evening will feature two contrasting sets of music, separated by a brief intermission.
The Lineup
- Opening the night is guitarist Vinny Linhares.
- Closing the first half: Experience an immersive, soul-stirring solo performance by flamenco guitarist Iminah Kani.
- Dynamic Classical Duos: Renowned local instructors Michael Kolk (Vancouver Community College) and Festival Director Luis Angel Medina (Capilano University) team up for a stunning collaborative performance of classical masterworks during the second half.
