Spiral Hand-Tied Bouquet Making

Join us for a hands-on floral class celebrating the beauty and abundance of the Veggies to Table flower fields led by professional floral designer Diane Farmer of Bloom Line Flowers.

Diane will introduce the foundational technique for creating a spiral hand‑tied bouquet — the method used by professional florists to build balanced, elegant arrangements. You’ll practice how to prepare stems, angle each flower correctly, and rotate the bouquet as you design. Students will explore color placement, proportion, and how to use foliage to create depth and movement. By the end of the class, each student will confidently create their own hand‑tied bouquet using proper mechanics, clean technique, and a natural, garden‑inspired style.

Diane Farmer is a formally trained floral designer and owner of Bloom Line Flowers in Oakton, VA. She specializes in creating unique, garden‑inspired arrangements for weddings and events throughout the Metro DC area. With years of hands-on experience and ongoing Master‑level training, Diane enjoys teaching students how to transform ideas into beautiful, expressive floral designs.
