Velindre's 'Show Cancer the V' Fun Run

Sun 19 Jul 2026 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Bute Park, Cardiff, CF10 3DX

Velindre's Brand New Charity Fun-Run is here!

The very first Show Cancer The V Run, proudly sponsored by Veezu, is happening this July, 2026! For all ages and abilities: run, walk or dance your way through our three distance options including 1.5km, 5km and 10km. Whether you're pushing for your next PB or pushing your little one in their pram, this is an accessible and inclusive event for everyone.

You'll be joined by celebrity runners, cheered on by lively music zones, and welcomed into a buzzing event village - all whilst helping raise vital funds for Velindre Cancer Services in Wales. All participants and visitors of the event will have free access to our Well-Being Tipi, sponsored by Phillips WellBeing, offering fun activities for the whole family.

All runners will receive a 'Show Cancer the V' run t-shirt (only guaranteed for those registered before 1st June 2026) and a finisher's medal as part of your registration.

Velindre is also proud to introduce the Quiet Run, a calm, inclusive and accessible option within our first ever Show Cancer the V Fun Run -  find out more about this specific event feature:

Velindre’s Quiet Run at the Show Cancer the V Fun Run

Designed to support participants who may benefit from a gentler environment, the Quiet Run is ideal for:

  • Individuals with neurodivergent needs
  • Anyone who prefers a quieter, more controlled setting
  • Families looking for a more relaxed way to take part together

A Calmer Start to the Day

The Quiet Run begins earlier than the main event, giving supporters the chance to benefit from:

  • Quieter public transport on the journey in
  • A lower‑footfall city centre before the day becomes busier
  • A peaceful, spacious environment to settle in and prepare at their own pace
  • Reduced sound from speakers to lower noise levels at the start and finish areas
  • A gentle start line with no loud horns, countdown noises or sudden sounds
  • A welcoming route where all marshals remain stationary, giving participants the option to interact if they’d like, or simply move past with ease
  • A relaxed atmosphere where pacing is gentle and participants are encouraged to move in whatever way feels right for them
