The Dunellen Theatre and NJProghouse present the return of STRETCH and L.A.X!  In 1984 the New Jersey based group Stretch released its first self-titled album featuring Glenn Alexander (The Connection, Rainbow’s Revenge, Oria, The Coalition, Northern Lights), Dave LaRue (Flying Colors, the Steve Morse Band, the Dixie Dregs), Bill Elder (drums) and special guest T Lavitz (keyboard).  The group performed extensively in the tristate region and across the United States garnering rave reviews and building a dedicated fan base. Due to schedules and the many challenges of recording and performing original music exclusively, the group broke up a couple years later. After a period of time, they reformed with Van Romaine on drums. They continued to perform, and after a few years, a different type of music started to emerge and surface in their writing. The new music was heavily influenced by The Allman Bros., Stevie Ray Vaughn and The Dixie Dregs. This new music had vocals with blues and southern rock influences that then merged with the fiery progressiveness of Stretch. Because of the direction change, Dave & Glenn decided not to continue with the name Stretch, and so, LaRue/Alexander-L.A.X. was born, with Van Romaine being the X factor in L.A.X. The three musicians will be performing as L.A.X., with the first half of the show a set of Stretch music, and the second half will be a set of L.A.X. music.
